In The White Towns, “Los Pueblos Blancos,” the locals specialize in handcrafts. We will pick you up at the border of Costa Rica (Peñas Blancas) and en route to Granada stop by the Mirador Catarina, a beautiful point where you can see the Apoyo Lagoon, the City of Granada and the Mombacho volcano. When we arrive in Granada, we will visit its historic sites such as the plaza and Cathedral. On our second day, after enjoying breakfast, we will tour the small islets of Granada. Afterwards, we will visit the National Park of the Masaya Volcano and continue on to Masaya’s Handcraft Market. We will spend two nights in Granada. The next morning we will depart early for Ometepe. For two days we will visit and explore the island and its volcanoes. At the end of the tour, we will visit San Juan del Sur beach. Transportation will then be provided to the Costa Rican border.

A Tour of great discovery!!!

This tour begins at the Peñas Blancas Border. We will drive to the City of Granada via the Pan-American Highway. On this route, you will have the opportunity to view and appreciate the Lake of Nicaragua and the magical island Ometepe and its volcanoes, Concepcion and Madera. Before we arrive in Granada, we will visit San Juan de Oriente and the Mirador Catarina. In the City of Granada, also known as “La Gran Sultana” (The Great Sultaness), we will visit the San Francisco museum, the Cathedral, the House of Three Worlds and other interesting sites. The next day we will tour Granada’s islets. Afterwards, we depart for the Mombacho Volcano; we will travel to the top of this reserve in a vehicle. Later that day, we will visit the Handcraft Market and the national park of Masaya’s Volcano. Here you will have an unforgettable experience, this active volcano is stunning. On the third day, we will tour Nicaragua’s capital city, Managua and travel to the City of Leon. During this journey you will enjoy the beautiful view of the Xólotlan Lake and the active Momotombo volcano. We will first stop at the “Ruins of Old Leon,” which is recognized as a heritage to humankind by UNESCO. We then continue to the City of Leon. This city was built in 1610 and for a long time was the capital of the province and a Nicaraguan independent state. The city is also known as a University Town, for it was the first city to have one. On this tour we will visit the famous colonial churches such as Leon’s cathedral – one of the most beautiful and biggest in Central America that contains the remains of Nicaragua’s greatest poet, Ruben Dario. In Leon we will also visit the Ruben Dario museum, the Museum of Sacred Art and the Ortiz Guardián foundation. On the last day, we will visit the San Jacinto Hot Springs. The afternoon will consist of visiting a nearby beach (such as Poneloya), which offers a great view of the Pacific Ocean. We will then travel back to Managua.

We begin by meeting you at the Granada airport. After checking in at the hotel, we will visit the Masaya Volcano National Park. It is one of the few active volcanoes in the world that has paved roads leading to the active Santiago crater. We will then visit the Handcraft market and the main sites in Granada such as the San Francisco Museum, the Cathedral, the House of Three Worlds, the Islets and the natural reserve of the Mombacho Volcano. We continue the tour by travelling to the Island of Ometepe and its two active volcanoes, Concepcion and Madera. We will tour the island and visit its archaeological museum that contains art from the pre-Columbian era. At the end of the tour, we will return to Granada’s airport to fly back to Costa Rica.

Enjoying an adventurer between the water!!!

The Archipelago of Solentiname is formed by 36 beautiful islands located in the Southeastern region of the Lake of Nicaragua – at the beginning of the San Juan River. These islands are like green pearls with overwhelming beauty and abundance of life, which adorn the landscape. The San Juan River represents a part of Nicaragua’s Ecotourism. This is a paradise where you can enjoy the true magic of the tropical humid forest; its rewards and memories are not to be missed. This expedition begins with a flight from Managua to San Carlos. After landing, we will take a boat tour that leads to the Archipelago of Solentiname. The Archipelago constitutes the main center of activity of the Painting Primitives, a beautiful and colorful artistic style, found mainly on the San Fernando Island, which lodges most of the artists. The next day is for the nature lover, especially those who enjoy bird watching. The Los Guatuzos Natural Reserve is a tropical rainforest that contains over 300 bird species. The tour continues down the San Juan River. We will visit the Fortress El Castillo of the Immaculate Conception that was built in 1675 by the Spanish. Down the river we will find the eco-lodge The Bartola Refuge. This Indio-Maiz Reserve is a refuge that contains species such as jaguars, reptiles, amphibians, fish and a diverse species of birds. They also offer activities such as birdwatching, sport fishing and hiking along the Bartola trails. We return to Managua after having experienced a magnificent journey.

This journey begins at the Northern border. This mountain region (the highest point in Nicaragua) is the land of coffee, pines and tobacco plantations. In Nueva Segovia, we will visit Monzonte, an indigenous town and coffee farm. In Esteli we will learn about tobacco production. From here we will depart for the Occident region, the Chain of the Maribios and the City of Leon, are in the heart of this region. We will have the opportunity to visit Leon, its Cathedral and other sites, which make it one of the most important cities in Nicaragua. These sites include the Rubén Dario Museum, the city’s 14 colonial style churches, the Sacred Art Museum and the Ruins of Old Leon. The Pacific beaches, such as Barcelo Montelimar, are wonderful places to relax; you will enjoy your stay at this all-inclusive resort. The combination of the Occident, Masaya and its volcano, and Granada with its islets, are a good option to learn about the history and culture of Nicaragua.
